Martyn Hodges was arrested on 03/10/2008 for offences of Sexual Assault in Sevenoaks, he was bailed to return to police on 13/02/2009 and failed to appear. It is possible that HODGES is 'living rough' outside of the Kent Police area.
Detectives are appealing for information following
a burglary at the Toby Carvery in
London
Road on Wednesday 4 March at around 4.30am. A green Land Rover Discovery,
stolen the previous day from Oxted, Surrey, reversed into the front of the
restaurant; two people are then thought to have gone into the premises and
attempted to move a free standing cash machine. Nothing appears to
have been taken during the incident. The Land Rover was found later
in the day in the Godstone area. Police would like to hear from anyone
with information or anyone who saw the vehicle in the area around the time
the burglary happened. Anyone with information about this incident is
asked to contact police on 01732 379217 (if possible quoting reference
3181) or KentCrimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
Callers to Crimestoppers do not have to leave their name. Information can
also be emailed to

This week I needed to create a simple survey. I could have just created a form but I wanted a better way of displaying the results. I opted for bfSurvey as there was a free version I could try and a commercial version with the features I needed. The free version is limited to 5 questions which is often all you need in a basic survey. Compared to other survey applications I have used, this one is pretty basic but it works well and is definitely worth a look if you want a survey on your Joomla site. There is a "Pro" version too.

Handbag theft
A
woman visited the toilet in JohnLewis at Bluewater (although, of course this could happen in any
store – Ed) and hung her
handbag on the back of the toilet door. As she carried on about her
business, a hand suddenly appeared over the top of the stall and grabbed
her bag clean off the hook. She immediately reported the incident to the
head of security, who in turn informed the manager of the store. A couple
of days later she had a call to say her bag had been found, without her
purse. She arranged a time to go and meet the manager to collect her
things. On arriving at the JohnLewis store at
the agreed time, the manager was not expecting her - neither was the head
of security - nothing had been found, no one had called. When the lady got
home, her house had been burgled, with no sign of forced entry; the Police
believe they had used her driving license for the address and her keys to
let themselves in.
Non Smoking Day
In the past three years careless disposal of cigarettes and other smoking
materials caused 170 accidental dwelling fires in Kent. As a result four people lost
their lives, 17 people were injured and many more suffered loss or damage
to their homes. This is why Kent Fire and Rescue Service is supporting the
national No Smoking Day on Wednesday 11th March and linking up
with some local NHS Primary Care Trusts to encourage smokers not only to
consider giving up smoking but to remind them to extinguish cigarettes,
pipes and cigars fully. Head of Community Safety Stuart Skilton said:
“National No Smoking Day provides the ideal opportunity to raise awareness
of the fire hazards caused by smoking. Clearly the best way to keep you
and your family safe is to give up smoking completely - a smouldering
cigarette is the biggest cause of fatal fires, resulting in one third of
all deaths from fires in the home. “We know that these fires are more
likely to start during the night and that some of the most common places
for them to start are sofas beds and carpets. Remember, a cigarette burns
at up to 700 °C, so if you must smoke make sure when you put it out, it
really is out. That final check could save your and your family’s life”.
